Visiting Santa at the Fire Station

We were driving home from Caleb's birthday party (more about that later) and noticed that the fire station by our house had Santa! So, we stopped by to let the kids sit on his lap and see some firetrucks up close and personal. Devin and Caleb did great, and Caleb was sure to remind Santa that his birthday was Christmas Eve, and not to forget to bring him birthday presents, too. Devin tolerated the whole experience, but wasn't too thrilled about any of it. Rebekah, on the other hand, was none too sure about Santa and really had no intentions of getting anywhere near him. She was just fine from a distance, and waved nicely, but when Santa invited her to come sit on his lap, she ran back to me and cried. I finally talked her into just standing in front of him (I promise he won't touch you, honey...right Santa?) and got a decent picture.

We then went to explore the rest of the firehouse and the kids got to climb on the firetruck. This part they all loved. Rebekah still wouldn't explore the firetruck, but at least she wasn't crying. I hope she gets more comfortable with people in costume before we go to Disney World at the end of January, or the princess breakfast we have scheduled is going to really be a waste!

Hope it helps, but Madison has always been scared of costume wearers of any kind. Santa, Easter Bunny, Pluto, Mickey. We took her to DisneyWorld when she was turning 4. She wouldn't go near anyone EXCEPT for the princesses. I guess because their faces aren't masked? Bekah should be fine. And have fun!!
